|We will do a quick compare review of the forerunner 10 vs forerunner 610.|
SIZE- the forerunner 10 has 2 sizes, the green/white is a tad smaller than the black version. Thickness is pretty much the same, but the forerunner 10 is lighter than the 610. So as an everyday watch the forerunner 10 can be worn better than the 610.
BATTERY LIFE- as a watch the forerunner 10 will last up to 5 weeks (so says the manual) and you might squeeze maybe two weeks of activities (6-8 runs) but I think both as comparable when using it regularly for running. You still need to charge it weekly as a habit.
ACCURACY - Surprisingly, the forerunner 10 isn't bad. I had both watches on my wrist while running for a week and the forerunner 10 was displaying about 10-20m less than the forerunner 610. Satellite acquisition is pretty similar, but the forerunner 10 might be a bit faster in certain situation.
DISPLAY - Forerunner 10 has limited data fields, only 4 of them really. So you don't have a lot of options while the forerunner 610 can be customized and auto scroll, etc... The backlight on the forerunner 10 is not as good and doesn't have any of the timeout & alert options you will find on the forerunner 610.
HISTORY - Forerunner 10 is limited to 7 activities, while the forerunner 610 can store a number of months on the device. So you have to make it a habit to upload to garmin connect using the forerunner 10
BOTTOM LINE - Forerunner 10 is for people who want to do 10 & 1 interval workouts and doesn't want any features, this is the one for you.
Forerunner 610 is for people who want to create custom workouts, Heart Rate training and more.

|The best running gps watch for your money in my opinion! Doesn't have fancy things like heart rate or interval training but hey less things to go wrong as they say. Does what you want in a running watch (it also dabbles in cycle tracking) and thats it, no money wasted on excess software that you would use once and then never again, although I must say that the live pace accuracy is incredible and the auto pause feature is great for city running with all the stop starting not harming your times.|

It's our lightest, most comfortable watch yet but can be worn as a regular watch, so your running partner is always on hand. This black and red model has a slightly larger watch face than the other colour schemes and has a wider wristband.
Garmin Forerunner 10: See just how you've done
As you run, Forerunner 10 automatically alerts you when you complete each mile, giving you a friendly beep and a screen that flashes your time for that mile. When you complete your run and save it, you'll see a summary of how you did, including your total time, distance, average pace and calories. The watch even lets you know when you achieve a personal record, like your fastest mile or longest run to date.
Garmin Forerunner 10: With personal record alerts
For runners who want a little more, Forerunner 10 has a couple of simple training features like Virtual Pacer, which compares your current running pace to your target. It also has a run/walk feature that's helpful if you're just starting out or your running plan includes walk breaks.
Store and Share
With a simple connection to your Mac or PC, you can upload your runs to the Garmin Connect website where you can see them on a map, get more detail on each mile and share it with friends — all for free.
Whether you're training to complete your first 5k or you want to get faster and fitter, accurate workout data is the key. With the ability to view it online you can see exactly how you've progressed.
You'll be even more motivated when you see your miles add up and can go back and see how you've improved from last week, last month or last year.
